SOCCER FOR KIDS AGES 5-14 YEARS

Skills Institute is where soccer takes center stage.  Rooted in child development theory, kids ages 5 to 14 years have a blast learning and improving technical and tactical soccer skills.  Players will walk away more confident, equipped for their next right step, and ready for life’s challenges on and off the field.  Players enjoy 30 minutes of age and skill appropriate instruction plus 20 minutes of small-sided scrimmaging. Classes meet weekly for 50-minutes.

TEAM IN TRAINING

The Team in Training is a program where you can register all or most of your current recreation or club level teams to come and train as a group.  Our staff will coordinate the training based on your specific team needs, or you can follow our Skills Institute curriculum.

If you have questions about our Team in Training program or would like to register your team, please fill out the form below to contact the Youth Soccer Instructional Manager.

Masks will be required indoors at all times for everyone ages 2+ years. This includes all fitness, soccer, and youth programming. Masks are not required for outdoor activities regardless of age.

COVID-19 UPDATES

TRANSFER MY EXISTING CREDITS

If you still have a credit from the Spring 2020 season, it will remain on your account and can be used for any future sessions. Your credits will not expire. Contact us to apply your Spring credits to your current registration.

Transfer My Credit

We are currently offering a limited number of classes that follow the county and state COVID guidelines.  Here is a list of the most common questions we are asked and our current policy regarding each one.

CAN I GET A REFUND, CREDIT, OR MAKE-UP CLASS? Because of the program changes we had to make (class sizes and limited staffing), we are currently not offering:  Make-up classes, credits, or refunds unless the request is directly due to a COVID-related illness and/or contact tracing.

CAN I HAVE A FREE TRIAL? We are currently not offering free trials for the programs.  If you are considering registration, you must register for the entire season (full or prorated) to secure your place in the class.

WHAT IS YOUR RAINY DAY POLICY? In the event of bad weather, all outdoor classes will be moved indoors. Decisions to move classes indoors are at the discretion of Bladium.  We do not offer any make-up classes, credits, or refunds for missed classes. Everyone ages 2+ must wear a face mask at all times while indoors. No spectators except for child/parent classes. Indoor cafe seating and upstairs seating will be closed.

We are excited to be able to continue to offer these great programs for your children and look forward to seeing you at Bladium.

LEVEL I

Ages 5/6, 7/8, 9-12 & 13/14
8:1 CHILD-TO-COACH RATIO
Classes focus on the fundamentals of player development: dribbling, passing, shooting, trapping and how to use them effectively in a game. Level I will take players through weekly sessions of fundamental skill building and competitive drills/games to build confidence and competence.

LEVEL II

Ages 5/6, 7/8, 9-12 & 13/14
BY RECOMMENDATION ONLY
8:1 CHILD-TO-COACH RATIO

Players well-suited for this class have level I or prior club experience. Classes focus on refining individual technique, positioning, strategy, speed and agility. Two things come together here; honing personal strengths and understanding how to use them to enhance team play. Coaches guide players towards mastering fundamentals, understanding correct field positioning and developing a strong Soccer IQ.  A strong focus will be placed on the development of technical skills that make the games more fun.

LEVEL III

Ages 7/8, 9/10, 11/12 & 13/14
SkillsLevel-III
BY RECOMMENDATION ONLY
8:1 CHILD-TO-COACH RATIO

Level III is our new program most similar to our previous BISA program.  In this program, you will find your place on the field. Whether you prefer a single position or want versatility, this challenging 50-minute class focuses on position-specific training. Players learn tactical insight and systems of play while building speed and agility. They will master fundamentals, position responsibilities, tactical approaches, and attacking/defending skills.

Level III is for players who have completed Skills Institute I and II and / or are current club level soccer players.  If you have not completed Skills Institute level I and II, you will be evaluated by a coach and recommended to join level III.

SISL is best used in addition to a regular Skills Institute class. SISL is 50-minutes of game-play where players can use the skills learned in their class in a game-like situation.

Lil’ Kicker and Skills Institute jerseys are provided with the purchase of the required semi-annual membership fee ($35). Outfitting your child in Lil’ Kickers garb is a fun way to make your child feel part of a team.  Kids naturally appreciate looking like older uniformed kids and role models.  Plus a uniform gives kids a sense of belonging because they look like others on the team.

Classes are co-ed, so the mix of boys and girls is based on who registers. The curriculum has been modified to allow for social distancing and less contact with equipment and coaches. We maintain a child/coach ratio of 15:1 or less for each class.

Our Hoppers and Jackrabbits courses are two Lil’ Kickers options for the same age bracket. Hoppers is a beginners level course whereas Jackrabbits is intermediate. Both courses contain creative games meant to further develop the child’s gross motor skills and start developing their finer motor skills. Jackrabbits, however, is run at a faster pace, introduces kids to more soccer techniques and skills, and starts bringing in-game situations via small-sided scrimmages.

No, all registrations are first come, first serve basis.

All Lil’ Kickers and Skills Institute Coaches are carefully screened to ensure we provide quality, child-centered, high energy instruction. Each Coach goes through a rigorous training process, which includes on-field and curriculum training.
